nickel biosorption from aqueous solutions using bios lids

چکیده
recently, the use of biological absorbent in removal of hazardous pollutants such as heavy metals has increased because of the decrease in sludge problems, economical issues, high efficiency and compatibility with the environment. this study was done over the biosorption of nickel by biosolids obtained from the municipal wastewater treatment in a batch reactor. the pretreatment of the biosolids includes dewatering, grinding and grain sizing with meshes between 50 to 120. nickel adsorption kinetics follows the pseudo second model and maximum equilibrium adsorption observed at two hours. the optimum stirring rate in this system is 150 to 250rpm. the increase in ph results in adsorption increase and there is a significant adsorption increase between 3 and 4. the results from adsorption modeling shows that the nickel adsorption follows the langmuir model and the maximum nickel adsorption (qmax) by biosolids is 0.195 milimole per gram of dry biosolids (11.442 mg/g) and the langmuir constant (kd) is 0.238 milimole per liter (13.96 mg/lit).

Ions from Aqueous Solutions by Biosorption Processes
Due to the disadvantages of heavy metal removal from aqueous sytems by conventional methods, alternative new methods have been investigated lately. Biosorption is one of these new methods. In this method, metal ions are transported into cell structure, and removal is ensured by several mechanisms that occured between living or non-living microorganisms and metal ions. The metal removal, the use...

in the present study, an indigenous medicinal plant, tridax procumbens (asteraceae) was used as bioadsorbent for the removal of cr (iii) ions from synthetic wastewater and the method was also applied for real sample analysis. the biosorption of cr (iii) was a two-stage batch reactor process. in the first stage, raw biomaterial was used to the conversion of cr (vi) into cr (iii). the amount of t...
متن کاملBiosorption of Cu2+ from aqueous solutions by pretreated Cladosporium sp.
In this paper, adsorption properties of a pretreated of Cladosporium sp. for Cu2 were studied. The fungi pretreated with some chemical reagents exhibited higher Cu2+ removal capacities than native biomass. The optimum chemical reagent was 0.2M NaOH. After 0.2M NaOH pretreatment, optimum conditions of biosorption were found to be pH 5.0, temperature 35 degrees C, and stirring speed of 100rpm. Eq...
